| What the...? It was pretty simple really. Arrive on the southern tip of India with no preparation and less luggage, jump in one of those Auto Rickshaw things and proceed to force 150cc of the finest Indian engineering over thousands of miles of questionable terrain to Kathmandu in Nepal. Once we reached Kathmandu, we left our motorised transport behind and, just to make our lives even harder, took a stroll around the Himalayas. And whilst having this jolly adventurous time, we were also raising money for local charitable causes. Why exactly? Back in the summer of 2006 we had this crazy idea to drive a 1000cc car to Mongolia in the Mongol Rally. In the end, we not only drove there but, for no good reason we could come up with, we drove back again! At the time it felt like a pretty stiff challenge but, a year on... Time to look for something a bit harder, something which is genuinely dangerous, in a vehicle which would struggle to come off lightly in a collision with a marshmallow. Something where temperatures and humidity are real concerns, not to mention the altitude sickness. Something like the Rickshaw Run! When Did You Do This? The event started on the first day of January 2008 and lasted about a month. So When You Broke Down There Was A Support Vehicle To Help? Support? Now where is the fun in that? The Rickshaw Run was a totally unsupported event, there was no truck with spare parts following us about and no comfy bed. OK, So How Did It Go?? Excellent question! Have a look around the site and find out.
